Province file

Ontario, where Canada's casino hotels cluster

Six of our twelve addresses are Ontarian, and no two are alike: towers over the falls in Niagara, a riverfront giant in Windsor looking at Detroit, a 2023 rebuild beside Toronto's racetrack, a Hard Rock in Ottawa that admits nobody under 19, and a lakeside resort past Orillia. Across the province the operator is OLG, the watchdog is the AGCO and you play at 19.

Six Ontario resorts on our scoreboard

Fallsview

above the Horseshoe Falls (ON) · No. 1 · 4.60/5 (A+)

The heavyweight of the Canadian list. Fallsview hangs 372 keys over the gorge, all designed with the view in mind, then stacks underneath them a gaming floor of roughly 200,000 sq. ft. — 110 live tables, machines past 3,200 — plus two theatres (the OLG Stage alone seats 5,000) and around twenty kitchens and bars. No rival packs that much beside a waterfall.

Caesars Windsor

Windsor riverfront (ON) · No. 3 · 4.35/5 (A)

Windsor plays the numbers game: 758 keys in two towers, most pointed across the water at Detroit; a Colosseum where 5,000 people sit within 225 feet of the stage; a floor that listed 2,000-plus machines and 80-plus live tables in its latest fact sheet. And the location is genuine downtown — Riverside Drive, not a ring-road exit.

Great Canadian Toronto

by Woodbine, Etobicoke (ON) · No. 5 · 4.28/5 (A−)

Toronto's old racetrack casino grew into a resort in 2023: 400 new keys, a concert theatre sized for 5,000, a pool plus sauna and steam, parking you do not pay for and a free bus from Pearson. The operator's boast is the slot floor — the biggest machine choice in Canada, it says.

Hard Rock Ottawa

south Ottawa, Albion Rd. (ON) · No. 6 · 4.03/5 (B+)

The newest key in our guide: Canada's first fully integrated Hard Rock, open since 3 July 2025. 150 keys (22 suites), a floor of 1,500-plus machines that never closes, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood and Hard Rock LIVE for crowds of 2,200. Anyone under 19 is turned away at the door, hotel guests included.

Casino Rama

Rama, near Orillia (ON) · No. 7 · 4.01/5 (B+)

Mid-renovation and improving fast, Rama — on Rama First Nation land past Orillia — is a resort in a glow-up: keys renovated floor by floor since 2025, a new spa downstairs and three new kitchens — Gateway's Atlas Steak and Fish the pick of them. Headliners still drive up Highway 400 to play its Entertainment Centre, which seats over 5,000.

Still on the desk's list

Two Ontario hotels await a full write-up. One sits east of Toronto — Pickering Casino Resort, 275 keys since January 2023 — and one by Port Perry: Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel, whose hotel was completed in November 2021. Both appear in our openings log for now.
