The biggest key count we cover, staring at Detroit across the river

Windsor plays the numbers game: 758 keys in two towers, most pointed across the water at Detroit; a Colosseum where 5,000 people sit within 225 feet of the stage; a floor that listed 2,000-plus machines and 80-plus live tables in its latest fact sheet. And the location is genuine downtown — Riverside Drive, not a ring-road exit.

Keys

758 keys, more than anywhere else the desk reviews, shared by two towers: Augustus, marketed at families, and the older Forum. Most windows are sold on the water itself: look across the Detroit River and the American city's office towers fill the glass.

Base room: the Resort Room, around 402 sq. ft., single king, big desk, tub plus separate shower, river outside. Every room was promised a refit in 2018; Forum's were done by September 2019 (carpet, bedding, 55-inch screens). Suites, top down: Executive — five-piece marble bathroom, mirror TV, private butler door, a fireplace in some; Junior — separate lounge, whirlpool in Forum only; Resort Deluxe — whirlpool tub and wet bar. Keys 16:00, out 11:00. Snag: our test reservation carried a C$23.40 nightly resort fee, taken at checkout.

The floor

August 2023 fact sheet: 2,000-plus machines, 80-plus live tables — among them a craps game the sheet called Ontario's only live one. Add a 1,700 sq. ft. Caesars Sportsbook (22 big screens) and a poker room under the World Series of Poker name. Floor and bars: 19+. Card: Caesars Rewards, which brings Colosseum presales.

Stage

The Colosseum earns full marks. The resort's own figure: 5,000 seats, with the back row a maximum of 225 feet from whoever is singing. A July 2026 statement says any age may attend unless an individual show restricts it. On the calendar at our last look: Friday 6 November 2026, Alice Cooper.

Kitchens and bars

Dress-up dinner: Neros Steakhouse. Otherwise: Café 377 (breakfast, lunch), Spago Trattoria (Italian, plates to share), Legends Sports Bar, Johnny Rockets, and a Tim Hortons on Forum's main floor that never shuts. Drinks: Cosmos Lounge with local bands Friday and Saturday nights; Vu Bar for the skyline. ARIIUS, the nightclub, left for Ouellette Avenue in January 2026 — no club on site now.

Water and wellness

Adults only in the indoor pool (big whirlpool, loungers, towel service). Sauna and fitness area for hotel guests. The current amenity list names no spa.

Getting in

Windsor's airport: a short cab. Drivers: the six-level Glengarry Avenue garage (number 257) back to full service since 8 July 2026, once more than twelve months of repairs had finished. From Detroit: the private Tunnel Bus, C$15, cashless, stopping at McDougall and University near the resort.

Desk verdict

Book around a Colosseum date, or as a two-night downtown base. Couples come out best; families manage fine in Augustus but must find their swim elsewhere.

Finding your way there

If you're flying, you can land in Windsor itself or across the river in Detroit; either way, Caesars is right on the downtown waterfront.
