The rule first

Under-19s may not enter any part of the property — not the floor, not the restaurants, not the keys. The C$350 million project rebuilt what used to be Rideau Carleton and opened on 3 July 2025. Under OLG, Hard Rock International manages it and bills it as its first fully integrated Canadian resort.

Keys

There are 150 keys, of which 22 are suites. Both Deluxe types (King or Queen) measure 389 sq. ft., and the Queen takes four people. Suites come in Silver and Gold, each with extra living space; Gold also brings a bar corner and a tub that stands on its own. Fancy music in the room? "Sound of Your Stay" sends up a guitar and a crate of chosen vinyl.

The floor

It never closes. Expect 1,500-plus machines, tables for craps, roulette, blackjack and mini baccarat, a newly opened room just for baccarat, and VIP high-limit areas. The Unity card has tiers named Star, Legend, Icon and (by invitation) X; climbing them cuts valet and shuttle prices.

Stage

At 23,000 sq. ft., Hard Rock LIVE seats 1,900, or holds 2,200 when full. The Joint: 25 to 400 guests. On weekend nights the lounge at Council Oak puts on free live music, while the Cafe hosts cover and tribute acts without a door charge.

Kitchens

The steakhouse, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, copies its namesake at Florida's Seminole Hard Rock and adds a Sunday brunch, 10:00–15:00. For less formal meals: noodles at YOUYU, pasta and pizza at Brick'd Italian Kitchen, burgers at the Cafe. Any hour: Constant Grind, the café in the Marketplace.

Water and wellness

Body Rock gym — Technogym kit, 24 hours, room-key entry. No pool appears on the published amenity pages, so do not pack for one.

Getting in

About two miles from the airport. Shuttle buses link the resort with two O-Train stops, Uplands and Leitrim; fares are C$5 (C$3.50 on a Unity card), cashless. Valet runs all day and night and costs C$20 if you hold no card — C$15 at Star, C$10 at Legend, nothing at Icon or X. There are two EV chargers. The raceway next door held its final harness races in March 2026.

Desk verdict

The newest grown-up weekend in the capital region, with more live music than any similar-sized casino hotel. Families: book somewhere else.

Finding your way there

If you're flying into Ottawa, you'll find Hard Rock practically next to the airport, on Albion Road.

  • If you'd like a taxi from YOW. It's only about two miles, according to Wikipedia. Map the drive ↗
  • If you'd rather take the train. Ride Line 4 from the airport to South Keys (about seven minutes), change to Line 2 for Leitrim, and finish on the casino shuttle: a $5 fare each way (Unity members pay $3.50), tap or card only. Map the transit trip ↗
  • If you're coming from downtown. Line 2 from Bayview takes you to Leitrim, where the shuttle waits. Map the transit trip ↗

Keep in mind the shuttle has gaps in the 11:00, 17:00 and 22:00 hours, and switches to Uplands Station overnight — Hard Rock says times can change. Valet is $20 if you're not a member.
