Ontario's casino hotels
Page revised · data checked
Ontario leads the country in casino hotels and offers the most variety: falls-view towers in Niagara, a Windsor riverfront resort across from Detroit, a 2023 complex by Toronto's racetrack, an adults-only Hard Rock in Ottawa and a lakeside resort near Orillia. All of them operate under OLG, the AGCO regulates them, and entry is 19+.

5 casino hotels reviewed here
Fallsview Casino Resort
Fallsview earns its reputation on numbers: 372 rooms aimed at the falls, a 200,000 sq. ft. floor with 3,200-plus slots and 110 tables, the 5,000-seat OLG Stage plus a second 1,559-seat theatre, and more than 20 places to eat. No other Canadian casino hotel offers that combination — or that view.
Caesars Windsor
Caesars Windsor is built on scale: 758 rooms in two towers, most looking across the river at Detroit; a Colosseum that seats 5,000 with nobody more than 225 feet from the stage; and a gaming floor of 2,000-plus slots and 80-plus tables. It's also genuinely downtown, on the Windsor riverfront, not beside a highway exit.
Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto
Woodbine's old casino became a full resort in 2023: 400 rooms, a theatre with capacity for 5,000, a pool with a sauna and steam room, free self-parking and a free shuttle from Pearson. The operator says no casino in Canada offers more slot machines.
Casino Rama Resort
Casino Rama, on Rama First Nation land outside Orillia, is mid-renovation and improving fast: new rooms rolling out since 2025, a ground-floor spa, and three new restaurants including Gateway's Atlas Steak and Fish. The 5,000-plus-seat Entertainment Centre keeps headliners coming up Highway 400.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa
Canada's first fully integrated Hard Rock resort opened on July 3, 2025, making it the newest casino hotel we review. Expect 150 rooms (22 are suites), a casino with 1,500-plus slots that never closes, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood and the 2,200-capacity Hard Rock LIVE. Nobody under 19 gets in — not even to the hotel.
Two more Ontario hotels still to review
Pickering Casino Resort, east of Toronto, added a 275-room hotel in January 2023, and Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel near Port Perry completed its hotel in November 2021. Until full reviews are ready, you'll find both on the new openings page.
