Alberta's casino hotels
Page revised · data checked
Alberta's two big casino resorts have a lot in common: both are owned by First Nations and both sit just outside a major city — Grey Eagle on Tsuut'ina Nation land by Calgary, River Cree on Enoch Cree Nation land by Edmonton. Gaming is regulated by AGLC, and 18 is the minimum age.

River Cree Resort & Casino
Edmonton's western edge, on Enoch Cree Nation land: a 249-room hotel attached to one of Alberta's largest casinos, Canada's first Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen, two NHL-size rinks and a free West Edmonton Mall shuttle, with an 18-storey hotel tower under construction.
Grey Eagle Resort & Casino
On Calgary's south-west edge, the Tsuut'ina Nation owns and runs Grey Eagle, whose 178-room hotel opened in 2014. Some rooms look west to the Rockies, the 2,500-seat Event Centre books good acts, and Little Chief is one of the stronger casino restaurants in the West. Expect a closed pool while renovations continue into 2027.
