Canada's first fully integrated Hard Rock resort opened on July 3, 2025, making it the newest casino hotel we review. Expect 150 rooms (22 are suites), a casino with 1,500-plus slots that never closes, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood and the 2,200-capacity Hard Rock LIVE. Nobody under 19 gets in — not even to the hotel.

Book it for: Couples or friends after live music, a steak dinner and a 24-hour casino — no kids in sight.
Look elsewhere if: Anyone in your group is 18 or younger — every part of the property, hotel included, is 19+.

The 19+ rule comes first

Before anything else, know this: guests under 19 can't enter any part of the property, the hotel and restaurants included. The resort opened on July 3, 2025, after a $350 million expansion of the former Rideau Carleton casino site. Hard Rock International operates it under OLG and calls it the first fully integrated Hard Rock resort in Canada.

Rooms

150 rooms, 22 of them suites. The Deluxe King and Deluxe Queen measure 389 sq. ft.; the Queen sleeps four. Silver and Gold Suites add living space, and the Gold has a freestanding tub and a bar area. Music fans can use the "Sound of Your Stay" programme to have a curated vinyl selection and a guitar sent to the room.

Gaming around the clock

Open every hour of every day: over 1,500 slots; blackjack, craps, roulette, mini baccarat and more at the tables; a new baccarat room; and VIP high-limit play. The Unity by Hard Rock card has four levels — Star, Legend, Icon and the invitation-only X — and the higher you go, the less you pay for valet and the shuttle.

Music most nights

Hard Rock LIVE is a 23,000 sq. ft. venue: 1,900 seated, 2,200 maximum. For smaller crowds, The Joint holds 25 to 400. Weekend nights bring free live music to the Council Oak Lounge stage, and the Hard Rock Cafe books cover and tribute acts at no charge.

Food

Council Oak Steaks & Seafood takes its cue from the original at Seminole Hard Rock in Florida; Sunday brunch runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brick'd Italian Kitchen, YOUYU Noodle Bar and the Hard Rock Cafe cover casual meals, and the Marketplace's Constant Grind café never closes.

Gym, pool, valet

The Body Rock gym has Technogym machines and opens 24 hours with a room key. A pool doesn't appear on the hotel's published amenity pages, so plan without one. Valet runs 24/7 and costs $20 for non-members, $15 for Star, $10 for Legend and nothing for Icon and X. There are two EV chargers.

Getting to Albion Road

The airport is about two miles away. A resort shuttle runs to the Leitrim and Uplands O-Train stations — $5 one way, $3.50 with Unity, card or tap only. The neighbouring raceway held its last harness races in March 2026.

Our advice

For a grown-up weekend in Ottawa, nothing is fresher, and no casino hotel this size has a better music calendar. Families, though, should book elsewhere.
