Location first

River Rock's best feature is the train: Canada Line's Bridgeport station is next door. The resort opened on the Fraser River in Richmond in 2004 and used its 20th birthday for upgrades, headlined by Gordon Ramsay Steak, the chef's first fine-dining room in Canada. In June 2026, Great Canadian Entertainment closed the resort's sale to a First Nations-led partnership.

Two towers, a wide range of rooms

Total: 396 rooms. Standard rooms — King, Two Queen and accessible King, all 325 sq. ft. — are in the Hotel Tower. The suites are over the sky bridge in the Casino Tower: one- and two-bedroom suites of 525–650 sq. ft., Executive suites with a sunken living room, Penthouses of 1,000–1,200 sq. ft. facing the Fraser, and a 2,800 sq. ft. Presidential Suite with fireplaces and a starlight ceiling over the bed. Blackout curtains, a safe, a coffee maker and a mini fridge come as standard. Guests must be 19 or older to check in.

Dining is the star

Gordon Ramsay Steak dry-ages its beef for 28 days and has added an indoor-outdoor area facing the marina. At Sea Harbour it's Chinese seafood, with dim sum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. KOI — sushi from the Kuns Omakase team — opened in 2026 in the former Miku space. Late-night noodles at Chopsticks Noodlehouse run until 3 a.m., and Rock House handles burgers. The Chairman's Room hosts the Grand Weekend Dinner Buffet Friday to Sunday, 4–9 p.m. (adult $85, senior $80, child $35), and a Sunday brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Privé Bar: 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., daily.

Water slide, spa, marina

The pool, complete with a water slide, is open 6 a.m.–10 p.m. daily. Up on level 2, Absolute Spa runs six treatment rooms from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A fitness centre and a riverside marina complete the list.

Casino and Show Theatre

Gaming is 24 hours and 19+, with a poker room and a racebook. The resort doesn't list its slot or table numbers, so we leave them blank rather than guess. Encore Rewards, the loyalty card used across B.C. casinos, works here. The 965-seat Show Theatre suits comedy nights and tribute bands better than big touring acts.

Resort fee, parking, pets

Expect a $19.99 daily resort fee per room; it includes parking in the West Lot, about five minutes' walk from the entrance. Pets cost $35 each per night, charged for three nights at most, and the hotel supplies a bed and bowls.

Our advice

If your trip starts or ends at YVR, stay here; if dinner is the main event, stay here too. For a major concert, look to the big stages out east.
